Our Mission

The Hainesport Township School District is committed to an educational program that develops critical thinkers and independent, lifelong 21st century learners. Each individual possesses a variety of intelligences, as well as a unique learning style, temperament, and pattern growth and development. Students of all ages need to learn at their instructional level with pace and depth of content matching and challenging their abilities while using complex skills, such as problem-solving, collaboration/teamwork, communication, and critical thinking. The mission of the program is to challenge, inspire, and support advanced learners—while providing meaningful enrichment opportunities for all students.
 
 

Program Highlights

Grades K–1
✔ Enrichment for all students through push-in activities
✔ Focus on creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving
Grades 2–8
✔ Small group instruction (2 Days a Cycle - 40 Minute Periods Each)
✔ Advanced learning opportunities for identified students
✔ Engaging enrichment experiences across subject areas
✔ Meaningful real-world connections 
 
 

Screening & Identification

Grade 2 (Start of Year)
➡ All students participate in universal screening
Grade 5 (End of Year)
➡ All students participate in universal screening
Assessment Includes:
• NCAAT-3 (computer-based test)
• Teacher GATES Rating Scale
• Final Grades
• Grade 5 only: NJSLA Scores
New Student Referrals
Students in Grades 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 may be referred if newly enrolled.
✔ Referral by parent or teacher
✔ Eligible after 3 months of enrollment
 
 
 

Program Expectations

Students in the G&T Program will:
✔ Sign an annual participation contract
✔ Be responsible for making up any/all missed classwork and activities
✔ Maintain strong academic performance
✔ Exhibit satisfactory performance in both general education and TAG classes
 
 
 

Academic Accountability

  • Students earning a C or below in a core subject will be placed on probation
    • Probation remains until the next interim progress report
    • Continued participation depends on improvement
