Curriculum
In the Hainesport School District, we believe every child deserves a strong foundation for learning and growth. Our curriculum is designed to inspire curiosity, build skills, and prepare students for success from Kindergarten through 8th grade.
Our programs follow the New Jersey Student Learning Standards, which means your child is learning the essential skills needed in reading, writing, math, science, social studies, and more. We also value the arts, technology, health, and physical education—helping students grow as well-rounded individuals.
What makes our curriculum special?
- Learning that is challenging, exciting, and meaningful.
- Opportunities for students to think, problem-solve, and be creative.
- Support for different learning styles and needs.
- A focus on skills students will use in everyday life.
Our teachers work hard to make lessons engaging and supportive so that every child can succeed. We also know learning is strongest when families and schools work together.
Thank you for being our partners in your child’s education—we are proud to learn and grow alongside our students every day!

Academic Enrichment
Academic Enrichment
Welcome to Academic Enrichment! This is a time for you to be successful in your current classes, so please use your time wisely. The purpose of this class is to provide you time to complete assignments, work on academic content, study for other classes, organize materials, or quietly read. Students must work independently, on their schoolwork, at their desk. Students are to remain in their assigned enrichment class, no exceptions, unless a teacher calls/comes to the room excusing you.
Students must bring school related material to work every class period. Chromebooks will be available for use. Acceptable material includes:
- Homework
- Study material
- Textbooks
- Silent reading book
|
Be PREPARED: Come to class on time, with all materials, ready to work.
Be RESPECTFUL: Of the teacher, other students, the classroom and equipment.
Be QUIET: This time is not a socializing period, remain silent and seated so others can concentrate.

NEW!!! For the 2024-2025 School Year, we will attempt to provide students with an active mental health break. On Fridays, during the first marking period, students will go outside and walk the perimeter of a designated assigned area. There will be 3-4 staff members assigned to assist in the monitoring of this area. This time will benefit both students’ physical and mental health, in conjunction with giving them a break from a traditional classroom setting.
While providing students with this time is a priority, students must earn this time throughout the week. If a student cannot adhere to the above three (3) main guidelines during academic enrichment time from Monday through Thursday, they will be withheld from the period that Friday. Teachers assigned to academic enrichment will inform administration as to which, if any, students will not be able to participate. In lieu of going outside during that time, the student will remain inside at a designated classroom. Thank you for your support in this new endeavor!!
